History

ISARail SpA was founded in 2000 in Portici (NA) on the initiative of a local group of talented young people, eager to undertake an ambitious business initiative in an area historically steeped in railway culture and home to the first line built in Italian territory (Naples - Portici railway , 1839).

The specialization of skills in the railway sector, both on a technological and regulatory level, has been progressively accompanied by the professional growth of the available resources and the maturation of significant experience gained through active participation in various complex railway projects, with roles of trust and responsibility for the specification and implementation of complete sets of functional tests and verifications for the activation of innovative railway systems.

This path was also accompanied by a progressive and rigorous systematization and regulation of conformity assessment activities in the railway sector, finalized with the achievement, starting from 2010, of various awards and accreditations. Some of the most significant stages of this path are summarized below:

• 2004-2009: The company, at the time called Symacontech, participates in the activation and approval phases of the ERTMS L2 signaling system installed on various sections of the nascent Italian high-speed railway network, developing and executing complete sets for functional verification of the application, in support of the CVT (Technical Verification Commissions) of the infrastructure manager RFI SpA.

• 2010: Recognition as an Independent Safety Verifier (VIS) by the National Agency for Rail Safety (ANSF). ISARail SpA is the first subject to achieve recognition by submitting to the complete qualification process provided for by ANSF, without resorting to the transitional provisions that allowed the automatic conferment of the Bodies already notified for the directives on railway interoperability.

2011: Accreditation as a Type A Inspection Body (UNI CEI EN ISO / IEC 17020 standard) obtained at the Italian Accreditation Body (ACCREDIA), with the scope of activities extended to all structural and functional subsystems of the railway system conventional and high speed, as well as all related components. The accreditation was subsequently extended to the additional operational sectors defined by the ANSF (Combined Transport and Common Safety Methods).

• 2011: Recognition as a Notified Body (NB n.2424) for railway interoperability (Directive 2008/57 / EC), achieved by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (DGTF), with the subject of activities extended to all structural subsystems and functional systems of the conventional and high-speed rail system, as well as all related components.

• 2012: Extension of recognition as a VIS to the Combined Transport and Common Safety Methods sectors, in compliance with revision 1 of the ANSF Guidelines for the qualification of Independent Safety Verifiers.

• 2013: Recognition as a Certification Body of the Entities Responsible for Maintenance (SRM) of railway freight wagons, achieved by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (DGTF) in accordance with Reg. (EU) no. 445/2011 and Ministerial Decree 12/12/2012.

• 2014: Accreditation as a Product Certification Body (UNI CEI EN ISO / IEC 17065 standard) obtained at the Italian Accreditation Body (ACCREDIA), with the scope of activities extended to all structural and functional subsystems of the conventional rail system and at high speed, as well as all related components.

• 2015: Recognition as an Assessment Body pursuant to Reg. (EU) no. 402/2013.

• 2015: ENAC (National Civil Aviation Authority) recognition as operator of Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (SAPR) in critical scenarios under VLOS (Visual Line Of Sight) conditions.

• 2016: Extension of the VIS recognition for the certification of the Entities Responsible for the Maintenance of railway vehicles other than freight wagons, according to the ANSF certification scheme.

• 2019: Extension of ISO / IEC 17020 and ISO / IEC 17065 accreditations following the IV Railway Package and Legislative Decree no. 50 of 14.05.19 and Legislative Decree 50/2019.

• 2020: MIT qualifications such as NoBo, DeBo, ASBo and OC-ECM pursuant to the Ministerial Decree of MIT n ° 37 of 28.06.19.

• 2020: Recognized by the National Agency for Railway Safety (ANSF) as an Independent Railway Body (OIF) pursuant to Article 3, crr of Legislative Decree 50/2019.
